LOS ANGELES Reuters  Freestyle dancer Stephen “tWitch” Boss may not have won the TV contest “So You Think You Can Dance”, but he took the prize in the charisma stakes which is now paying off with a flourishing career in dance and movies.
His engaging smile and oversized black eye-glasses earned tWitch the nickname Mr. Personality on the show in 2008, and helped secure his place in this season’s “All-Star” group of returning contestants.
It could all have been very different. TWitch, 27, who only began serious dance training 10 years ago, was planning to join the Navy if he failed to get onto the Fox dance show in 2008.
Instead, he’s taking on his first major film acting role in Step Up 3-D, which opens on Aug 6, and performing some of the most-talked about “So You Think You Can Dance” numbers this season by teaming up with ballet dancer Alex Wong, and contemporary dancers Kent Boyd and Lauren Froderman.
tWitch — the nickname was earned in childhood for his unique popping and ticking style that looked like a twitch — talked with Reuters about life after “So You Think You Can Dance” (SYTYCD), where he finished as runner-up in 2008.

Gregory Hines was born in new york city Mr. Hines began dancing professionally as a young child but went on to become an unusually successful crossover actor in theater, film and television the genial, suave dancer, singer and actor who for many personified the art of classical tap in the 1980's He won a Tony Award as best actor in a musical in 1992 The New York Times, wrote of Mr. Hines's guest performance in 1995He followed up that success with Tony-nominated performances in ''Comin' Uptown'' (1980) and ''Sophisticated Ladies'' (1981), and had featured roles in two films that year, playing a Roman slave in his film debut in Mel Brooks's ''History of the World -- Part I'' and a coroner in ''Wolfen,'' It was not until he reached his late 30's, Mr. Hines said in ''Gregory Hines's Tap Dance in America,'' a 1989 program in the public-television series ''Great Performances,'' that he began to ''relax and reach true expression.'' It was around that time, in 1978,  died late Saturday on his way to a hospital from his home in Los Angeles. He was 57.

Did you know that twich's real name Stephen Boss  II.  Boss originally auditioned for Season 3 of SYTYCD, and made it through 'Vegas Week' but was beaten out by Hokuto "Hok" Konishi when it came to placing in the Top 20. Boss returned in Season 4 making it all the way to the finale, as runner-up. While his breakout performances occurred on SYTYCD previously appeared as a dancer in Hairspray. He can be seen in the dance number at the platter party and in "You Can't Stop the Beat". Boss also choreographed dances for singing groups, such as the Korean group Se7en and Disney's Cheetah Girls.
